Tuggerah Medicare Mental Health Centre Art Competition

Local artists and community members are warmly invited to enter Grand Pacific Health’s Community Art Competition, celebrating the July opening of the Tuggerah Medicare Mental Health Centre, and promoting mental health awareness through art. Inspired by the theme Let your Light Shine, this competition is open to artists living in the Central Coast Region. Artists are encouraged to explore how the creative process impacts both the creator and the viewer, while also reflecting their unique cultural background.

About the theme

At its core, Let your Light Shine honours the lived reality of mental health recovery: that even in the darkest spaces, something within us is still responding, adapting, and slowly finding its way forward. Artists are asked to draw on lived-experience, their own, or a close friend or family member. We want the artwork to somehow reference a personal story, reflecting light and dark, shadows and struggles, authentic lived-experiences which build resilience on the path towards change and recovery.

The winning artworks will be purchased for display in the Centre, with 1st place purchased for $3,000 and 2nd place purchased for $2,000. Other select artworks will be displayed at the hub for 12 months for public exhibition.
