Today the Queanbeyan community came together to celebrate the launch of the Harm Minimisation Campaign at Grand Pacific Health, Queanbeyan.

GPH’s Harm Minimisation Campaign is designed to support those with alcohol and other drug use concerns in the Queanbeyan-Palerang region.

GPH CEO Adam Phillips said that the Harm Minimisation Campaign was an important step in ensuring that the region was supported as a whole, focusing not just on GPH consumers, but the broader community.

“We’ve recently celebrated our first year supporting the community, and this campaign builds on that support,” Phillips said. “We’re reaching out even further building connections with other community services who can share these resources with their consumers as well.

“The heart of the campaign is ensuring there’s engaging tools around alcohol and other drug support that’s human-centred and warm. The goal is always reducing risk.”

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, Mayor Kenrick Winchester said the campaign will play an important role in helping locals who may be unsure about where or how to reach out for support.

“Organisations like GPH make a real difference in our community,” Mayor Winchester said. “This campaign will help ensure people in Queanbeyan can access trusted support that’s been developed with our diverse region in mind.”
