Jennifer Illingworth
I have 35 years of experience as a counsellor working with clients to create an individualised plan to achieve personal goals and long-term sustainable change. Clients develop social relationships, assertiveness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, mindfulness, problem-solving, and goal-setting skills.
I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Somatic (body) Psychotherapy. Using Motivational Interviewing as a framework for setting and working towards goals, I also believe that self-care and self-compassion are vital for well-being.
