What is chronic pain?
Chronic pain refers to any kind of persistent or long-lasting discomfort or ache that lasts for a prolonged period of time, typically for three months or more. Unlike acute pain, which is usually temporary and serves as a warning sign of injury or illness, chronic pain can persist even after the initial cause has healed. It can affect various parts of the body and may range in intensity from mild to severe. Chronic pain can greatly impact a person’s daily life, making it important to seek proper medical attention and support to manage it effectively.
