Integrated Recovery Services

What is IRS?
IRS supports you if you have ongoing mental health conditions. We aim to work together in the community to build your strengths and enhance your wellbeing. If you would like, we can work together to help you develop skills and connect with other services and supports.

Who is IRS for?
If you have complex needs due to your mental health condition, IRS can help you if you are 16 years or older and living in South-Eastern NSW. You need a regular GP, but we can help you find one if you do not have one.

If you receive an NDIS funding package, the IRS will not be able to support you.

How does the IRS work?
IRS provides access to mental health clinicians and peer workers to help you on your recovery journey.

What is a Peer Worker?
A Peer Worker is someone who has personally faced significant mental health challenges and has used mental health services. Their own journey of healing and recovery allows them to understand and support you as you navigate your mental health challenges.

What will we do?
Together, the IRS team will work with you to create a recovery plan that focuses on building your strengths and enhancing the areas of your life that matter most to you. We also provide opportunities to build social and meaningful connections.

The IRS team will work alongside you for 9 to 12 months.

Where is IRS offered?
IRS is delivered from GPH hubs in the Illawarra region, Queanbeyan /Goulburn region, and from Moruya through to Bega on the South Coast with Outreach available in some locations.

How can you access IRS?
Referring someone to the IRS is a straightforward process open to all, including self-referrals.

You can start receiving support by calling the National Head to Health line at 1800 595 212 Monday through Friday (except public holidays), 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will assess you over the phone.
