Dr Tanya Robertson

Tanya has been a practicing GP for over 30 years working in both urban and rural settings and as an owner of a general practice as well as a contractor in private and NGO settings. Tanya’s current clinical role as a GP is with the Royal Flying Doctors Service SE out of Broken Hill. Tanya has expertise in youth mental health having worked at The Junction Youth Health Service as GP and clinical advisor, providing multi-disciplinary care to vulnerable, disadvantaged youth in the ACT.

Tanya is currently a member of the AMA National Mental Health Committee and is actively involved in teaching medical students, GP and other specialty registrars.

Tanya established the GP Liaison Unit at Canberra Hospital. In this role she advocated passionately for recognition and understanding of the pivotal role of General Practice, the need to improve communication between the primary and tertiary health sectors and worked to improve the systems for patients.

Between 2017 and 2019, Tanya was Medical Director for the SENSW Primary Health Network (COORDINARE) providing clinical governance advice to the Chief Executive and Board.
