headspace Nowra (operated by Grand Pacific Health) and Sonder Youth, partnered together with Lifeline South Coast and Shoalhaven City Council to create a bushfire documentary called 'New Years Day' that had its first community screening at the Ulladulla Civic Centre on Sunday January 24th, from 5-8pm.
The film focuses on 4 young women from the South Coast, who reflect on their experiences of the fires and how they are processing things 12 months on. The film focuses on the courage, resilience and hope of regional young women in the face of a natural disaster beyond their control.
The event was held at the Ulladulla Civic Centre, which was the Disaster Relief Centre during the fire period and many who lost their homes were living there at that time.
The day was a great success with more than 200 attendees.
