HASI – Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
What is HASI?
HASI provides personalised mental health and wellbeing support for individuals living in the Shoalhaven community. Our goal is to assist you in managing day-to-day life while promoting confidence, independence, and connection with others.
Who is HASI for?
HASI is for individuals aged 16 and older living in the Shoalhaven who have been diagnosed with a significant mental health condition and need extra support with daily activities. For Aboriginal people, those aged 16-24, or refugees/asylum seekers, a formal diagnosis is not required. A mental health professional must, however, determine that additional help is necessary due to your social and emotional wellbeing.
How does HASI work?
HASI is a flexible, person-centred program tailored to your unique needs, goals, strengths, and challenges. Our team includes support workers, wellbeing workers, and peer workers who collaborate to assist you in taking control of your wellbeing, functioning confidently at home, and developing the skills needed to live the life you want when you leave the program.
HASI is non-clinical, meaning the medical aspects of your care will need to be provided by the clinician of your choice. We focus on empowering you to lead your journey of mental health recovery.
How can you access HASI?
Referring to HASI is straightforward and open to all, including self-referrals. You can start receiving support by calling the Medicare Mental Health Centre line at 1800 595 212 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., excluding public holidays). Let them know you’re interested in HASI, and they will assess whether this service is right for you. With your consent, they will share your information with us, and we will get in touch.
