Queanbeyan Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Hub
The Queanbeyan AOD Hub is delivered as a partnership by Grand Pacific Health, Directions Health Services, Katungul Aboriginal Corporation. We offer a welcoming and safe space for individuals experiencing, or at risk of, harm from alcohol and other drugs. Our services are free of charge.
Who Can Access Support?
Our hub is staffed by drug and alcohol mental health professionals, nurses, peer workers, and Aboriginal Health Workers. People using this service can choose to work with one or more of the team, based on their needs and goals. Our harm minimisation approach meets you where you are and supports you in exploring other community resources as you work towards the life you want to live.
What to Expect
• Counselling and Case Management: Counselling and support to help people who are wanting to reduce or stop substance use or prevent relapse.
• Mental Health & AOD Support: Specialised support for people experiencing both mental health challenges and substance use.
• Service Navigation: Supporting you to connect to specialised AOD services such as such as withdrawal, residential, or rehabilitation programs.
• Culturally Safe Care: Care and support that is sensitive to your cultural and trauma-related needs.
• Holistic Care: We work with you to connect you to local services for housing, employment, training, and welfare.
• Peer Support: Support from peer workers who have their own lived experience of substance dependence.
• Cultural Support: Support from an Aboriginal Health Worker who can help you stay connected to your culture, community, and land.
• Wellbeing Groups: Join groups aimed at improving health and reducing AOD harm.
• Family & Carer Support: Resources and connections are available for your support network.
Accessing Support and Costs
You can access up to 12 months of support through our program, all at no cost to you. There are multiple ways to connect with us:
Self-Referral: Visit us in person, call our centre, or complete the referral form available on our website. GPH Referral-Form-2024
Referral for Others: Speak with us on behalf of a friend, family member, or kin.
Professional Referral: Have another service provider complete and send the referral form to Grand Pacific Health.
