Service Model & Peer Workers

SERVICE MODEL
MyStep delivers services within a stepped care model. This means that there are different levels of services to meet your needs, whether that is receiving a little extra support or ongoing treatment, and anything in between.

If your needs change so does the service.

WHAT IS A MYSTEP PEER WORKER?
Peer Workers are people who have a ‘lived experience’ of mental illness. ‘Lived experience’ is the understanding we get from having lived through something. This may be a personal experience of mental illness or of caring for someone with mental health issues. Peer Workers work with other people to assist them to build the tools for their recovery. Peer Workers provide empathy, non judgmental support and provide hope for recovery.
