The conference was a great success, and everyone did an amazing job. I left feeling really proud to be a part of such a wonderful team and grateful to work for such an amazing company.
The start of this September saw nearly 200 members of our team meeting up in the capital city to celebrate our 30th year serving the community with our first organisation-wide conference.
We’ve grown to over 20 different locations across NSW and the ACT, and in light of the last three years affected by the pandemic for many of our team members, this conference was their first chance to meet with other hubs in the organisation face to face, “Getting to know the other programs that exist within the organisation has really increased my knowledge base and network.”
The conference’s key goal and theme was “Connection: Everybody belongs”, and feedback from the team let us know that it was a great success! “Very rarely do I leave a conference thinking “The theme really hit the tone of the conference”, but this one did – and that was wonderful.”
Uncle Stephen shared a meaningful and personal Welcome to Country to kick off a day full of events that showed us where our values aligned, and as a mood-boosting-metaphor, a surprise drumming session, where we all got to synchronise to the same beat while also showing off our own individual rhythms and style. We also had members of our own teams share their expertise on their specialised services with other teams.
