‘Women of Willow Tree’ – was a free event held in May for local women to check in with one another after the difficulties experienced over the past few years.
The day was an opportunity for women to connect and hear from an incredible line up of guest speakers with inspiring stories to tell.
Speakers include; Jane Newsome (Chartered Accountant and Partner of Robert and Morrow – Jane’s rules of financial engagement for rural women), Lynda MacCallam (Living with Chronic Illness), and Kate Arndell (Rural Adversity Mental Health Program, Coordinator – Unpacking your mental load).
The event was being organised by locals, Debbie Sadler, Kelly Heath, and Deb Eden, as well as RAMHP Coordinator, Kate Arndell and is a great example of what a passionate group of local volunteers can achieve when they are willing to go the extra mile for their community.
RAMHP Coordinator, Kate Arndell says we shouldn’t underestimate the importance of coming together after such a difficult few years:
“As humans we need to have connection for positive mental health and wellbeing.”
“This day was a great opportunity to bring together women from the local community to laugh, learn and enjoy a special day out just for them”.
The event was proudly funded by the Red Cross, and RAMHP, and supported by Robert and Morrow, and HealthWise.
GPH is proud to coordinate the state wide RAMHP Program
