HEAL is back in Cooma

HEALTM  (Healthy Eating, Activity and Lifestyle) is an 8 week healthy lifestyle program being run by Grand Pacific Health (GPH) in Cooma starting later this month.

GPH Cooma Health Promotion Officer, Kate Greenwoodsays the sessions are broken into one hour of exercise and one hour of advice about healthy eating, being more active and how to stay on track.

“Each participant also has a one on one appointment at the start and finish of the program and also at 5 and 12 months.”

“The classes are run by an accredited exercise physiologist and no-one gets voted off!”

“Since 2014, more than 130 people have participated in HEAL in Cooma and Jindabyne, many of who have made lasting changes to their exercise and dietary habits, with resulting weight loss and/or improved fitness.”

“Participants have consistently commented that they found the classes enjoyable and informative,” Added Kate.

Program Details:

When:  Pre-program assessments Thursday 26th April. Group classes start 3rd May, 10am-12pm and run for 8 weeks.

Where: St Andrew’s Uniting Church Hall, Cooma

Who:    HEALTM is best suited to people who are overweight or obese (BMI >30) and not exercising regularly. People with or at risk of type 2 diabetes or other chronic “lifestyle” disease will also benefit. This program is being conducted by Grand Pacific Health and is free for all participants. A doctor’s referral is preferred but not essential.
