Illawarra Shoalhaven Partners in Recovery (ISPIR) is running a free workshop based on Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) in the Shoalhaven.

ISPIR is a service for people with severe and persistent mental health issues run by Grand Pacific Health (GPH).

This attachment-based program is suitable for consumers who want to better understand what goes on in their mind when they get triggered in relationships and who want to feel

empowered to make relationship choices which work best for them.

GPH Psychologist Annie Bovard, who will be coordinating the workshop, says it is called ‘Building Strong Relationships’ and is one of four workshops ISPIR are offering as part of a ‘let’s talk’ series, which include: ‘Managing a Crisis’, ‘Flexibility and Feelings’ and ‘Positive Relationships:

“There will be 9 sessions as part of each workshop and participants can choose to attend all 4 of them or even just this one,” said Annie.

“A GPH Mental Health Peer Worker will attend each session to ensure the comfort and safety of all participants,” added Annie.
